S2 E10: Patriarchy Hurts Everyone

In this episode, the hosts and their guest, Eugene Hung, not only touch on Marvel's Agents of Shield and church youth group camp culture, but also unpack the "Man Box." Eugene Hung is an advocate, educator, and writer. His blog, Feminist Asian Dad, is the main hub for his writings but you can also find his columns, and articles in AsianceMagazine.com, FindingBalance.com, HuffPost, The Mary Sue, Sojourners, Red Letter Christians, Christians for Biblical Equality, 8Asians, Thick Dumpling Skin, Catalytic Women, and the National Park Service. In addition to being a freelance writer, Hung is also a public speaker on women’s rights, masculinity, and relationship and sexual violence prevention. Previously, he worked as an educator at the University of California, Irvine in the Campus Assault Resources and Education (CARE) office. Before that, he was on the paid staff of the nonprofit Man Up Campaign as a movement organizer and digital communications manager. And before even that, he served for more than 12 years as a church minister. Eugene holds a Th.M. degree in leadership, a B.A. in math and political science, and he is state-certified to serve as a sexual assault victim advocate.

He lives with his wife and two daughters in Southern California. Eugene states:  “My experiences with my girls and my advocacy on their behalf provide the fodder for my commentary on parenting, gender, feminism, race, and culture.”
